I'm a software engineer specialising in web and app development. For more than nine years I've been building websites and mobile applications across the full development lifecycle — planning, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
No two days look the same. One day I'm analysing algorithms or tracing a stubborn bug; the next I'm brainstorming ideas with a product owner or wiring up a new third-party system. I like that variety, and I like that it puts me in contact with people from a wide range of disciplines.
That's the part I enjoy most: the software lifecycle brings together so many different people and departments, and as someone who values relationships, I love seeing a team converge on the same goal.
